The Ministry of Agriculture expects to receive around 250,000 files in this campaign that would reach a total value of 1.425 billion euros
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has opened the deadline for the submission of the Single Application for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for 2018 as well as the aid and payments that can be requested. Andalusian farmers and stockbreeders will be able to carry out this procedure until April 30th and make the necessary modifications to the files until May 31st.
2018 is the fourth call for income support aid for the agricultural and livestock sector following the implementation of the new Basic Payment scheme and, as in the previous three years, is expected to receive around 250,000 requests, which in total would reach a value of 1,425 million euros.
Through this application, payment may also be requested for compliance with agri-environmental commitments and the maintenance or conversion to organic farming or stockbreeding. In total, the Regional Ministry has already awarded 473 million euros to more than 30,000 beneficiaries, to compensate them for the cost associated with fulfilling these commitments over five years. Of this amount, EUR 159 million, or 33.6% of the total amount committed, has already been paid.
CAP 2017 aid
As for last year’s Common Agricultural Policy aid, the Andalusian Government has already paid out €1,188 million to a total of 216,369 beneficiaries in 2017, which is around 90% of the amounts earmarked for the entire season. These payments are a six-month advance on the deadline for this procedure.
