It is known by all the restless minds and lovers of olive oil, that one of the most important residues generated in its production is the olive bone. And it is that, the oil is not the only elixir that is extracted from this fruit so characteristic of our land.
It is estimated that a normal olive harvesting campaign can leave up to half a million tons of pits in Spain, which, due to imperative customs, ended up in landfills. The passage of time has shown that this organic matter, once dry, is a first-class clean fuel for biomass production. Difranox, a company from Úbeda (Jaén), a participant in the XXI edition of the Olive Tree Fair, is an expert in this.
As a novelty, this year they will present a bone dryer with a new filter system that traps polluting particles from the combustion of olive pits, adapted to the olive pit drying and cleaning equipment.
The method of drying and cleaning the bone consists of separating the three fractions that make it up: clean bone, skin and fines. By using this clean and dry bone you will have more efficiency, less emissions and therefore less corrosion in boilers. The main advantages of consuming this clean and dry bone are:
• Produces 25% less ash.
• It has 60% less fat content.
• Produces 20% less sulfur and nitrogen emissions.
• Produces 33% less chlorine emissions.
Our visitors and exhibitors of this XXI Edition will be able to see two models with this new filter system at stand E7A of the Fair:
Model SELI/DFX-1,500: with a production of around 1,500 kg/hour of bone. In the same operation, the bone is dried and cleaned. Electrical consumption: 35 Kw, and has a consumption of 35 Kg/h of bone to feed the heat generator.
Model SELI/DFX-3,000: with a process of about 3,000 kg/hour, of bone. In the same operation, the bone is dried and cleaned. Electrical consumption: 53 Kw, and has a consumption of 70 Kg/h of bone to feed the heat generator.
