Live a different fair in a different year
Montoro, September 24-26, 2020
Agreed by the consortium of the Olive Fair and the Montoro City Council and due to the current state of alarm in Spain caused by the Covid health crisis19 which has established a confinement of the population in the first instance until April 13, 2020, has decided not to hold the Montoro Olive Fair on the dates they were originally planned (from May 13 to 16). It is also established on September 24, 25 and 26 as the new date for the celebration of what will be the “XX Special Edition of the Montoro Olive Fair”.
In this different edition, the Olive Oil Salon will continue to be maintained with the presence of the 100 best oils in the world chosen at Evooleum 2020, in addition to the Córdoba and Ecotrama Provincial Awards. It will have the assistance of tasting all the awarded oils that will be present in a wide exhibition and where they can be tasted on site. The Technical Sessions scheduled in the May edition will continue, technical presentations dedicated to Xylella fastidiosa and research and development in the olive sector. The traditional parallel events that take place in the town of Montoro will be maintained and new actions will be incorporated to compensate for the possible decrease of the Stand at the fair.
The “Feria del Olivo” brand reinvents itself by proposing a series of events, activities and expositions of companies with a positive spirit, celebrating a historic event on another date, but at the end of the day, achieving that nothing, or anyone, can annul this celebration that for many montoreños, cordobeses and companies and farmers in the sector miss this must-see event and reason for meeting, company and fellowship.
From the Consortium of the Olive Fair, a message of thanks is also sent to all the companies and professionals who have been working for months on planning the edition of the fair in May and call them to attend the exhibition in the month of September.
Finally, from the organization of the event, express appreciation for the work that the olive sector is carrying out in this period of restrictions, thanks to its work the food establishments are supplied and citizens can count on the products of first necessity.
